Summer vacations are around the corner and so is the time for the nostalgic train journeys. Gone are the days to stand in long queues for buying train tickets as many mobile application provide with the facility of buying IRCTC tickets digitally on your smartphones. But like any other transaction charges, there are charges that are levied on IRCTC tickets booked through digital mobile applications. These applications can be associated to banks, e-payment services or e-wallets. Among them are the following modes that can be used to book train tickets digitally and you will hence be charged accordingly.

E-Wallet Modes

  • PayU Money M: Taxes charged are 1.8% of net amount + GST 
  • Paytm: Taxes charged are Rs 10 for net banking. in case of debit cards, 0.25% is charged for amount up to Rs 1,000, 0.5% for amounts between Rs 1,001-Rs 2,000 and a charge of 1 % for an amount above Rs 2,000. For other options, the tax levied is 1.8% of the amount+GST
  • Mobikwik Wallet: 1.8% taxes are charges on the net amount +GST
  • Freecharge Wallet: 1.8% taxes are charges on the net amount +GST
  • Jio Money: 1.30% of the net amount+GST is charged
  • Ola Money: 1.30% of the net amount+GST is levied on payments through this mode. 
  • Airtel Money: 1.8% of the net amount+GST is charged on this mode of payment. 

Debit/ Credit cards powered by Mobile Payment services 

  • Powered by Paytm: Rs 10 is levied for net banking. In case of debit cards, no charges are imposed up to an amount of Rs 1,00,000. For other options 1.8% of the net amount +GST is levied. 
  • Powered by Zaakpay: Rs 10 is levied for net banking. In case of debit cards, no charges are levied up to an amount of Rs 1,00,000. For other options 1.8% of the net amount +GST is imposed. 
  • Powered by PhonePe: For debit cards, no charges are levied up to an amount of Rs 1,00,000. In case of credit cards, 1.8% of the net amount+GST is levied. Rs 10 is charged in case of UPI payments above Rs 2000. For other options 1.8% of the net amount +GST is charged.
  • Powered by PayU Money: Rs 10 is levied for net banking. In case of debit cards, no charges are levied up to an amount of Rs 1,00,000. For credit cards, 1.8% of the net amount+GST is charged. 1.8% of the net amount+GST is imposed on UPI mode of payments. 
  • Powered by Razorpay: Rs 10 is levied for net banking. 1.8% of the net amount+GST is charged on UPI mode of payments. In case of debit cards, no charges are levied up to an amount of Rs 1,00,000. For credit cards, 1.8% of the net amount+GST is imposed.
