Bihar Lockdown News Today: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is likely to make some new announcement today regarding the lockdown restrictions in the state. On May 31, 2021, the Nitish Kumar led Bihar government extended the COVID-19 lockdown in the state till June 8, 2021. However, certain relaxations were granted by the state government to the business activities. It is expected that today, the Bihar CM will announce the lockdown in the state to operate with further restrictions.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar made the announcement of extending the lockdown in the state till June 8, 2021, on social media after he chaired a meeting of the crisis management group that comprises his cabinet colleagues and top officials. The Bihar CM then tweeted in Hindi, "In view of the corona outbreak, a decision has been taken to extend the lockdown by a week, till June 8. However, some extra concessions will be made for business activities. People are requested to wear masks and maintain social distancing."

As per a report by india.com, now with a dip in the number of COVID-19 cases, expectedly Nitish Kumar is going to make some announcements today. According to certain reports, the state government might announce a lockdown 5 but with more relaxations. The decision will be made on Tuesday after proper consultation with the disaster management group.

Till now, certain relaxations have been granted for the convenience of businesses. Currently, the shops in rural and urban areas are being allowed to function from 6 AM till 2 PM. It is expected that their duration might get extended.

Following are the list of relaxations that the Bihar government might announce today:

1) Certain reports suggest that buses and other public transport services will be allowed to operate with 50 per cent capacity.

2) Both private and government offices are likely to start in Lockdown 5 in Bihar. However, the attendance of the staff may be limited.
