Bihar Election Date 2020: The Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Aroa Friday announced the safety guidelines that will be followed during the Bihar Election 2020. Aroa said that the Bihar Assembly Elections 2020 is taking place during the Coronavirus challenge and hence the Election Commission of India has ensured all COVID-19 related health and safety protocols.

Speaking on how social distancing will be maintained Sunil Arora said, "To ensure social distancing to ensure COVID-19 related health and safety protocols, the total number of voters at one polling booth has been restricted to 1,000 only. No physical contact is allowed during the election campaign."

On measures that will help contain probability o0f Coronavirus spread during the Bihar Elections 2020 Arora said, "The commission is committed to follow the safety norms issued by the MHA (Ministry of Home Affairs). To ensure safety protocols as issued by the MHA, around 7 lakh hand sanitizers, 46 lakh masks and 6 lakh PPE kits will be used to ensure free, fair and sage elections in Bihar Assembly Polls 2020."

Arora also said that thermal screening of each voter will be done before allowing them to enter the polling booth. He also said that COVID-19 patients will be allowed to vote in the lst houor of the polling nmeans from evening 5 PM to 6 PM. 

Here are the rules that will be followed –  

1] Only 1000 voters in 1 booth;
2] 46 lakh masks have been arranged;
3] 7 lakh sanitisers to be used;
4] 6 lakh face shields will be used;
5] Voting to take place between 7 am to 6 pm; and
6] Election campaigns to be done virtually. 

He said that the term of assembly in the state of Bihar is due to expire on 29th November, 2020. Bihar assembly has a strength of 243 members, of whom 38 seats are reserved for SCs and two for STs.
