Bank Holidays in June 2021: People must note that the banks will remain closed for seven days in the month of June in certain cities and states. There are three listed bank holidays in the month of June this year, on account of Y.M.A. (Young Mizo Association) Day/Raja Sankranti, Guru Hargobind Ji's Birthday and Remna Ni, as per the holiday calendar by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

Notably, there are three types of holidays that are mentioned in the RBI list. They are - Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act, Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act and Real Time Gross Settlement Holiday and Banks’ Closing of Accounts.

On June 15, 2021, the banks will remain closed on account of Y.M.A. Day/Raja Sankranti. Again, on June 25, 2021, the banks will remain closed on account of Guru Hargobind Ji's Birthday. And finally on June 30, 2021, the banks will remain closed on account of Remna Ni. These days have been declared holidays under the the category Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act.

It must be noted that the RBI has categorically mentioned that the banks in certain states and cities will remain close on these three holidays. The banks will remain closed in Aizawl and Bhubaneswar on June 15, 2021, on the occasion of Y.M.A. Day/Raja Sankranti. Again, the banks will remain closed in Jammu and Srinagar on June 25, 2021, on the occasion of Guru Hargobind Ji's Birthday. The banks will remain closed on June 30, 2021, in Aizawl on the occasion of Remna Ni.

Apart from these three holidays, the banks will remain closed on the second and the fourth Saturdays on June 12 and 26 respectively and on the four Sundays on June 6, 13, 20 and 27 due to weekends.
