Several states in India have imposed partial or complete lockdown in order to curb the spread of the coronavirus. People are working from home and are advised not to step out of their house until some emergency comes out.

However, banks and ATMs remain opened to help people take out the money in case of need. But there are certain festivals and eves on which the banks remain closed in the country.

Like every month, in May also there are certain holidays for banks. The Reserve bank of India (RBI) releases a list of holidays for the banks, every year. All the banking operations remain completely shut for the customers on these days.

Apart from Saturday's and Sunday's banks will remain close for three days ahead in the month, as per the RBI holiday list. However, a few holidays have already passed like on May 1 and May 7.

Here is the list of upcoming holidays in May:

May 13: The day will mark the celebration of Ramzan-Id (Id-Ul-Fitr) (Shawal-1) and hence all the banking operations will be closed on the day.

May 14: banks will remain shut on the day due to the celebration of Bhagvan Shree Parshuram Jayanti/Ramjan-Eid (Eid-UI-Fitra)/Basava Jayanti/Akshaya Tritiya.

May 26: Buddha Pournima will be celebrated on May 26 and hence all the banking services will be shut.

Customers who are planning to visit their respective bank branch are advised to plan it accordingly keeping the holidays in mind to avoid any trouble.

Also, these holidays will be followed in a majority of Indian states, except a few ones, depending on the state-declared holidays.

People can note that all online bank services like ATMs, mobile banking and online banking services will be available for them during the above-mentioned holidays.
