Bank Holiday September 2022 List: Banks will remain closed for a total of 13 days in the month of September, according to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). These holidays include the regular bank weekly offs. All banks remain closed only on national holidays, second and fourth Saturdays, and Sundays.

Bank Holiday September 2022- Full list (Under Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act)

September 1: Ganesh Chaturthi 2nd day - Panaji

September 6: Karma Puja - Ranchi

September 7: First Onam - Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram

September 8: Thiruvonam  - Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram

September 9: Indrajatra - Gangtok

September 10: Sree Narayana Guru Jayanthi - Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram

September 21: Sree Narayana Guru Samadhi Day - Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram

September 26: Navtatri Sthapna/Mera Chaoren Houba of Lainingthou Sanamahi - Jaipur, Imphal

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) places the holidays under three categories- Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act; Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act and Real-Time Gross Settlement Holiday; and Banks’ Closing of Accounts.

Customers are advised to plan their bank related tasks, transactions accordingly and timely to avoid inconvenience. As per RBI, a few bank holidays remain regional and may differ from state to state and bank to bank.

On days when these financial institutions are non-functional, customers may avail the online banking services.

In October, banks will have 15 bank holidays excluding the regular bank holidays. Earlier, in August banks had 12 holidays in August 2022 excluding the regular bank holidays.
