In what may surprise many, Baba Ramdev today said he may sell petrol, diesel for Rs 35-40 per litre. But on one condition. Speaking at 'NDTV Yuva'event, the Yoga Guru-turned entrepreneur said, "If the government lets me, and gives some relief in tax, I can give petrol diesel to India at Rs 35-45 per litre."

Petrol and diesel prices have gone up by several rupees in the last two-three months, hurting the common man. External factors are believed to be the main reason behind the recent fuel price hike. But what has irked many is the government's refusal for a knee-jerk reaction to tame rising prices. 

In the run-up to elections 2019, the fuel price hike has also become a political issue. Ramdev said, "The rising prices of things can cost the Modi government very dearly. He will have to act."
