Narendra Modi led government presented its first interim budget on February 1. Interim Finance Minister Piyush Goyal presented the budget this year in place of Arun Jaitley as the latter is on medical leave in the US. However, Jaitley was following the budget and was one of the firsts to react to it. frequent on twitter and responded regularly during the speech. The budget is warmly welcomed by the people and investors as some big announcements were made in the speech. He said the Interim Budget presented by Piyush Goyal today marks a high point in the policy directions that the Government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given to this nation.

Jaitley praised his government for delivering excellent budgets throughout the tenure. He wrote, 'Between 2014-19, every Budget has given significant relief to the Middle Class'. He also mentioned the parameters on which the budget is friendly to the people of India.
