DDA allottees alert: In a bid to take responsibility of housing colony maintenance, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has decided to issue guidelines for maintenance of 700 housing colonies. The DDA sources informed that the guidelines can be expected into the public domain by February 20. In this guideline, responsibilities of both DDA and Residential Welfare Associations (RWAs) will be made clear and transparent to the public. It is noticeable that flat allottees are facing hell lot of problems as both DDA and RWA play ping-pong on taking responsibilities as on numerous occasions it has been found that both the organisations have shed the responsibilities on other citing 'it's not their job.' The new guidelines will help allottees to know for various maintenance supports, which door is the correct one to knock.

On the basis of that, the RWA will contact DDA panels to get the housing colony maintenance properly and effectively done. In this arrangement, DDA will work as a facilitator between RWA and panels.

Now, the RWA and allottees won't require to roam in DDA offices. The DDA will appoint one Link Officers for each RWA. The direct number of the Link Officer will be made available to the RWA who will handle their issues to the related panels.
