Neutral foreign institutional investors (FII), domestic institutional investors (DIIs), futures and options (F&O) and sentiments and negative global cues suggest that the short-term trend of the Indian stock market will continue to be in the neutral zone on Friday, February 22, 2019.

Earlier, the Sensex and Nifty extended gains for the second session on February 21, 2019. This was led by pharma, metal, auto and banking stocks amid buying by foreign and domestic institutional investors. 

The BSE Sensex surged 142.09 points, or 0.40%, to end at 35,898.35. The Nifty 50 appreciated 54.40 points, or 0.51%, to settle at 10,789.85 and Nifty bank was up by 96.90 points, or 0.36%, and closed at 27,052.40.

10,800 and 27,000 are the deciding levels on Nifty and Bank Nifty. 
The small trading range on Nifty stands at 10,750-10,825 while the medium and extreme ranges lie between 10,700-10,850 and 10,650-10,900 respectively. 
In the case of Bank Nifty, the small trading range stands at 26,900-27,100 while the medium and extreme ranges lie between 26,800-27,150 and 26,650-27,250. 
Trend positive only after closing above 10,800 and 27,200. 

For Existing Long Positions:
Intraday stop loss 10,750 and target 10825, 10850. Closing stop loss 10725 and target 10,850, 10,900. 

For Existing short positions:
Nifty Intraday and closing stop loss triggered at 10,725 and 10,750. 
Bank Nifty Intraday closing stop loss triggered at 26,850 and 27,000. 

For New Positions:
Buy Nifty in 10,725-10,750 range with a stop loss of 10,700 and target 10,800. 
Sell Nifty with a stop loss of 10,850 and target 10,750, 10,725. 

Buy Bank Nifty in 26,800-26,900 range with a stop loss of 26,700 and target 27,000, 27,050.  
Sell Bank Nifty in 27,050-27,150 range with a stop loss of 27,250 and target 26,900, 26,800. 

The put-call ratio (PCR) stands at 1.40 and the volatility index (VIX) declined 6% at 16.05.
