With almost 40 passengers on board, a Spice Jet aircraft flying from Renigunta to Hyderabad was cancelled at Tirupati International Airport today, following a technical snag. The flight landed soon after take-off when the pilot identified a technical snag in the aircraft. The aircraft landed safely. 

Talking about the incident, SpiceJet spokesperson told ANI, "SpiceJet flight SG 1042 operating Tirupati-Hyderabad was cancelled due to a technical issue on Wednesday. All Passengers were adjusted on alternate flights."

The Spice Jet flight, which had originally travelled from Hyderabad to Tirupati international airport, was on its return journey when the technical snag took place. 

In the avaiation segment, there is a positive development for the now-defunct Jet Airways, as the government has promised to facilitate employment to job-less airline staff. The Civil Aviation Ministry is in touch with other private airlines such as SpiceJet and IndiGo to assist Jet staff get meaningful employment.

On Tuesday, Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that a website would be launched listing staff of Jet Airways and help find employment in other private entities, adding "We are also producing a website which is ready. I wish I had the capacity of telling you that the website is up. Every employee would be listed there and the prospects for their re-employment or employment will be facilitated by the government."

The minister made this statement while replying to members in the Rajya Sabha on the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority of India (Amendment) Bill, 2019.
