Those who started following Indian cricket in the last decade would know MS Dhoni for his match finishing skills or calmness on the pitch. After Dhoni announced his retirement, Mahindra shared the story about how he came to know about the wicketkeeper batsman. Mahindra tweeted that it was his mother who introduced him to Dhoni, that too for the latter’s offbeat hairstyle.

An avid Twitter user who extensively posts on it to interact with his followers, Mahindra narrated the incident on the social media platform and shared the three lessons that he learned from Indian cricket team’s most successful captain.

“Much has been said about what #Dhoni brought to the game. I’m no expert on cricket & I remember I 1st noticed him when my mother pointed him out on TV intrigued by his hairstyle. He reminded us that to make an impact: a) Be authentic b) Be bold/take risk c) Stand out”.

Dhoni bowed out of international cricket with a cryptic Instagram post on Saturday leaving social media in frenzy. Tributes poured from many including politicians, celebrities and India Inc bosses.

“Thanks a lot for ur love and support throughout. From 1929 hours consider me as Retired,” said Dhoni on Instagram bidding adieu to the international cricket.

In Dhoni’s captaincy, India had won ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, ICC Champions Trophy in 2013 and ICC T20 in 2007 in South Africa. He will continue to play for and lead Chennai Super Kings in the coming IPL season.
