Fire broke out today at the Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport, Babatpur, Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, sending authorities into a tizzy. The fire first started at an Air India ticket selling counter.

"A fire broke out at the Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport here in Uttar Pradesh on Monday at the Air India ticket selling counter creating panic," a police statement revealed

As per the officials, Fire tenders were rushed to the spot immediately and an officer added that "no officer or staff was present at the counter at the time of the incident as the first flight of Air India comes from New Delhi at 11.35 a.m."

The reason behind the fire is not known yet.

While there were no injuries reported, property of the airport was damaged, which included some furniture and computers at the ticket selling counter.
