Ahmedabad school fire: In what appears to be a major lapse of safety measures, a massive fire broke out at a school in Ahmedabad on Friday. No casualties has been reported so far and the attempts to douse the fire reportedly were still going on.

The fire incident was reported from Krishna Nagar area in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Panic gripped the town after several persons were feared dead in the blaze, however, the latest report confirmed that everyone has been evacuated and no casualty has been reported.  

"A fire that broke out at Ankur School in Krishna Nagar has been brought under control and cooling process is underway. No casualties reported," reported news agency ANI.

Earlier, It was reported that several students and school staff were stuck on the premises as firefighters made all-out efforts to douse the fire.  

As per india.com, 10 fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the flames. The cause of the blaze is yet to be ascertained, it said.
