The sapling would be distributed from 20 metro stations, including Green Park, Hauz Khas, Dilshad Garden, Laxmi Nagar, Jamia Milia, Dwarka Mor, Vaishali, Kalkaji Mandir and Botanical Garden, a senior DMRC official said.

The Adopt a Tree Campaign was initiated by WWF-India in 2005 with the aim of encouraging both individuals and organisations to plant and care for native species of trees.

Other stations where saplings would be distributed from, include -- HUDA City Centre, MG Road, Chhattarpur, Saket, Vasant Vihar, Nehru Place, Rajouri Garden, Netaji Subhash Place and RK Puram.
