7th Pay Commission: Unhappy employees to go on nation-wide strike
M Krishnan, Secretary General of the Confederation of Central Government Employees and Workers issued a notice to the Government and said that the members will go on an indefinite strike from July 11.
Cabinet on Wednesday approved 7th Pay Commission recommendations for its 47 lakh central government employees and 52 lakh pensioners. However, Confederation of Central Government Employees and Workers isn't happy with the 23.5% hike and has decided to go on a nation-wide strike.

They decided to hold demonstration and rallies in front of all offices and at all centres starting from 4th July to 10th July.
As per the announced 7th Pay Commission data, it has recommended 23.55% overall hike in salaries, allowances and pension involving an additional burden of Rs 1.02 lakh crore or nearly 0.7% of the gross domestic product (GDP).
A panel, headed by Cabinet Secretary Pradeep Kumar Sinha, had reviewed the 7th Pay Commission recommendation and had sent its report to the Cabinet which was accepted today.
