The number of employees on government rolls in Tripura may not be large, but the fact is that the state exchequer would nevertheless have to carry the burden of the funds outgo even as the economy is not in the best of health

That the burden can be heavy is made clear from the fact that Maharashtra finance minister, just days ago, had cited in his Budget speech in assembly, the fact that teh seventh pay commission funds outgo will hang heavy on the state defivit. However, the biggest reason for the  same was the farm loan waiver. According to sources, the 7th Pay Commission outgo there would be as high as Rs 23,000 cr and the government had earmarked as much as Rs 10,000 cr for this fiscal.
