7th Pay Commission: The West Bengal Higher Education Department has issued an order for revision of pay scale of college and university teachers which has been implemented from January 1, 2020.

West Bengal government had announced the new pay scale on November 5 and also declared that the professors from colleges and universities will get a hike of 3%  on their basic salary  for four years from 2016-2019.

Earlier, 2 teachers association has said that if they don't get paid according to UGC 7th Pay commission revised salary, they will launch protests. 

All Bengal University Teachers Association said that the scheme for pay scale decided by the government is not according to the 7th Pay Commission revision scheme and the order did not address their demands.  They added that along with the revised pay scale, they should also get arrears.

Senior Technical Officer: The selected candidates will be paid as per Level-11 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC 67700- 208700 Rs 98,465 respectively.

Technical Assistant: The selected candidates will be paid as per Level-06 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC 35400 - 1,12,400 Rs 51000 respectively.

Technician- The selected candidates will be paid as per Level-02 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC 19900 - 63200 Rs 28,500 respectively.
