7th pay commission latest news today: In a major relief for over 4.37 lakh government employees in Madhya Pradesh, the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan government has announced arrears for these government employees. The step has been taken in view of the festive season ahead with Dussehra being very near.

The Madhya Pradesh government has decided to release 25 per cent for the third instalment of the 7th pay commission arrear. The amount will be directly credited into the accounts of the government employee.  

The Chief Minister has said that the onslaught of the coronavirus pandemic had hugely impacted the state finances and that the decision to withhold the third instalment of the arrears was on this premise. He reiterated his earlier stand that the decision of withhold the arrear was only temporary. He has also assured that every rupee that is due to the government employees will be released by his government.

Meanwhile, former Chief Minister Kamal Nath took a dig at Chouhan’s government. In a tweet, Nath said that the government should do away with its attitude against government employees and release the entire arrears amount of the third instalment.
