7th Pay Commission Latest News: Are you a law graduate and looking for job opportunities? Here is one with the Indian Army. The Indian Army is inviting applications from men and women for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Indian Army for Judge Advocate General Branch (JAG).

Eligibility Criteria: The applicants should be between 21 and 27 years as on 1 July 2020 (Born not earlier than 02 Jul 93 and not later than 01 Jul 99; both dates inclusive) and should be unmarried.

Educational Qualification: Minimum 55 per cent aggregate marks in LLB Degree (three years professional after graduation or five years after 10+2 examination). The candidates should be eligible for registration as an advocate with Bar Council of India/State. Candidate should be from a College/University recognized by Bar Council of India.

Overall, 8 vacancies have been advertised – 6 for men and 2 for women.

Selected candidates (Male and Female) will be granted Short Service Commission in the regular Army for 14 years i.e. for an initial period of 10 years extendable by a further period of 04 years.

Duration of training is 49 weeks at OTA, Chennai. Stipend to Gentlemen or Lady Cadets during the entire duration of training in Service academies i.e. during training period at OTA will be Rs 56,100 per month.

Important Note:

The entire cost of training at OTA will be at Government expense. In case the Lady/Gentleman cadet is withdrawn from training academy due to reasons other than medical ground or the reasons not beyond his/her control, he/she will be liable to refund cost of training at Rs 11,952 per week till Sep 2020, thereafter a yearly escalation of 8 per cent p.a. will be calculated on the Per Capita Cost of Training for each ensuing year (or as notified from time to time) apart from allied charges as fixed by the government from time to time, for the period of his/her stay at OTA, Chennai.
