Inflation eats into the pay. Central government employees have been asking for quite some time that their pay should be raised by a formula higher than the one recommended by the 7th pay commission report. As per current salary, they say, inflation is making it very difficult for them to maintain their lifestyle at a normal level. Everything is costing more and they are having to cut down on many expenses that are considered necessary on a daily basis. This is leading to tremendous difficulties in their lives and therefore there was dire need to hike 7th CPC pay.
