7th Pay Commission: Hope for employees as National Pension Scheme panel to meet officials this week
The Committee on allowances as part of the 7th Pay Commission has submitted its report on House Rent Allowance (HRA) to the government last month.
Government officials are likely to meet National Pension Scheme (NPS) panel later this week to discuss implementation of 7th Pay Commission.
Shiv Gopal Mishra, the convenor of National Joint Council of Action (NJCA), a joint body of unions representing central government employees, has said that union officials may meet with members of panel on NPS by end of this week to suggest measures for implementing the scheme, NDTV Profit reported.
The Committee on allowances as part of the 7th Pay Commission is yet to submit its report on House Rent Allowance (HRA) to the government.
As reported by Zeebiz earlier, under the 7th Pay Commission, HRA should be paid at the rate of 24%, 16% and 8% of the new Basic Pay, depending on the type of cities while unions demanded HRA at 30, 20 and 10%.
On March 10, Minister of State for Finance Arjun Ram Meghwal, in a reply to Lok Sabha said that the committee has not submited its report to the government but the deliberations of the committee are in the final stages.
In late June last year, after implementing the CPC proposals on salary and pension for the central government’s 4.7 million employees, Jaitley had announced the Lavasa panel would examine the suggestions on allowances.
