The Empowered Committee of Secretaries headed by Cabinet Secretary Pradeep Kumar Sinha will meet later on Tuesday to finalise the payout. Earlier, the meeting was expected to take place on June 11.

The outcome from the meeting will have bearing on salaries of 47 lakh central government employees and 52 lakh pensioners, the report noted.

The Government of India had earlier decided to set up a high-powered panel headed by Cabinet Secretary Pradeep Kumar Sinha in January this year to process the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission.

According to media reports, once 7th Pay Commission gets final nod from Empowered Committee of Secretaries, it will take only few days for the Finance Ministry to implement higher salaries for the central government employees.

Reports have also noted that the secretaries group may recommend 30% increase in minimum and maximum basic pay structures along with doubling of existing rates of allowances and advances.

As per reports, the 7th Pay Commission has suggested a maximum basic pay of Rs 2,50,000 and a minimum of Rs 18,000.

A 30% increase would translate into maximum monthly salary of Rs 3,25,000 and minimum at Rs 23,400, respectively.
