Seven Indian Railways stations in Rajasthan topped the charts in a cleanliness survey ranking in the top 10 category. This Railways' cleanliness survey was unveiled on Wednesday by Railway Minister Piyush Goyal.

The Indian Railways issued a list of 720 railway stations out of which Jaipur stood on top, while Jodhpur was declared second and Jaipur`s sub-station Gandhinagar was declared third.

In last year`s ranking Jodhpur was first while Jaipur was second in the list.

The other Indian Railways stations which notched ranks under the top 10 category are Durgapura, Suratgarh, Udaipur and Ajmer.

While Jaipur attained 931.75 marks, Jodhpur received 927.19 marks.

The north western zone of the railways also topped the charts amongst 17 zones in the cleanness stream.

Since 2016, the Railways have been conducting the third party audit and cleanliness ranking of 407 major stations annually. This year 720 stations were included in the survey and suburban stations were also included for the first time.
