Gold price in India for 24 karat gold slipped Rs 192 today to come in at Rs 30,532 per 10 grams, while price for 22 karat gold stood at Rs 27,988 per 10 grams, according to goldpriceindia.com.

24 karat gold is also known as 999 gold and is the purest form of gold available in market in the form of gold coins and bars. 

Similarly, 22 karat gold is known as 916 gold and is generally used to make jewellery. 

Highest gold price in February remained Rs 30,828 per 10 grams while the lowest gold price was Rs 29,820. Gold price on February 01 was Rs 30,451 per 10 grams.

Global trend

Globally, gold extended its fall on Wednesday as the dollar remained strong on rising treasury yields, while investors awaited the minutes of the US Federal Reserve’s last policy meeting for cues on the pace of interest rate hikes this year.

Spot gold had slipped by 0.1 per cent to $1,328.65 an ounce at 0130 GMT and was down for a fourth straight session. Prices fell 1.3 per cent on Tuesday, in their biggest one-day percentage decline since December 7, 2017.

US gold futures were down 0.01 per cent at $1,331.1 per ounce.
