Sensex ends below 200 points; on Brexit fears

  • BSE Sensex slumped by 200 points at 26,525.46. The 30-stock index was negative with 7 advances and 23 declines. Total turnover stood at Rs. 454.00 crore with volume of 10,880,525.

  • Dhampur Sugar is trading down by 4.17% at Rs. 112.50. The company has raised Rs. 200 crore via QIP. 

  • Brexit fear has shrinked all the gains of Indian equity market. There was no relief in Thursday's trading session, except PSU banks, remaining all sectors tumbled. At 3.05 pm, Sensex continues to slump 206.88 points or 0.77% at 26,519.46, while NSE was down by 70 points at 8,136.20. 

  • MCX gold price rises more than 300/10 gm.

  • Maruti Suzuki dips on Japan currency depreciating. Shares of the company slumps by 2.62% at Rs. 4,069.70. 

  • During the second half of the session, Sensex was trading at 26,428.70 below 290 points, while NSE dips 96 points at 8,110. 

  • PC Jeweller slumps on BSE. The company plans to open its 62 showroom in Jharkhand. The shares were down by 1.25%at Rs. 370.55.

  • There is heavy selling under bluechip companies. On BSE, bluechip stocks were trading in red, with ITC at Rs. 352.50 (2%), ICICI Bank at Rs. 239 (1.79%), Larsen & Tourbo at Rs. 1,486 (1.59%), HDFC at Rs. 1,189.50 (1.36%) and Reliance Industries at Rs. 971 (1.16%). 

  • Ujjivan Financial Services dips on the market, on RBI restricting FII buying in the company. The script was trading at Rs. 382.60 below 8.50 points or 2.17%. It opened at Rs. 378.40 down its previous closing of Rs. 391.10. 

  • Strong move on State Bank associates on Cabnets approval for merger. State Bank of Maysore is trading at Rs. 652 surging by 19%, highest among SBI subsidiaries. State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur and State Bank of Travancore both up by 15%, trading at Rs. 691.20 and Rs. 552.90 respectively. However, their parent State Bank of India is trading marginally down at Rs. 215.30. 

  • All Telecom stocks slipps on BSE. Bharti Airtel and Reliance Communication both down by 2% trading at Rs. 344.70 and Rs. 46.90. Tata Communication stood at Rs. 443.35 dips by 1.51%, and that of Idea Cellular marginally down at Rs. 99.85.

  • S&P BSE SmallCap falls below 100 points.  Trading near its low of 11,359.29. 

  • NSE reaches its below 8100 mark. The index trades at 8,091.05 dipping by 115.55, with 49 declines and 2 advances.

  • WATCH: 

  • INOX Leisure rose on BSE, on its associates with Paytm to provide convenience to customers. The script is trading at Rs. 225.60 up 1.23%. Total traded quantity stood at Rs. 0.10 lakhs against its two weeks average quantity of Rs. 0.15 lakh. 

  • Maruti Suzuki is among the top losers on BSE. Shares of the company shrugged off its previous gains, and is trading at Rs. 4,105.25 down 101.85 points or 2.42%. It opened at Rs. 4,161 below its previous closing of Rs. 4,207.10.

  • Except Metal and PSU Bank sectors, remaining all are shredding on the market. Investors are profit booking on Fed worries over economy, as US keeps the rate unchanged. 

  • Gail India rallies on market ahead of Mahanagar Gas IPO. The stock is trading 1.10% up at Rs. 382.40. It opened at Rs. 377.70 slightly lower from its previous close of Rs. 378.25. 

  • Banking stocks fall.

    15 declines in public sector banks on the BSE as against 14 declines in private sector banks. 

    State bank of Mysore gains 14%, followed by State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur at 8% and State Bank of Travancore at 9.5%.

  • BSE Sensex opens below 128 points at 26,597.77. The  index is negative with 4 advance and 26 declines. While NSE too followed the league by opening at 8,158.45 down by 48.15 points. The 50-stock stock is negative with 6 advances, 44 declines and 1 remaining unchanged.
