Sensex gains over 230 points as remain in EU inches ahead

  • HCL Tech trades below 20 points or 2.83% at Rs. 714. The company is currently struggling in retaining its exiting clients. It has lost around $1.5 billion worth of contracts that came up for rebid over the past two years which had slowed its revenue. The shares of HCL Tech opened at Rs. 735 just a margin higher from its previous closing of Rs. 734. The script continues to face selling pressure also tapped by Brexit with 1.89 lakhs shares exchanged on market today. 

  • Yes Bank was top gainer on Bank Nifty, as it plans to raise $1 billion from international markets. The shares of the bank soared 34 points at Rs. 1,112.75. It touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1,115.

  • All banking stock surged on NSE index. Bank Nifty closed at 17,892.45 up 266.40 points or 1.51%. 

  • NSE Nifty gained by 66.75 points at 8,270.45. The 50-script index was positive with 37 advances and 14 declines. 

  • Tata Motors was among the top pick on BSE, as Brexit poll commenced today. The shares of the company surged 15 points or 3.28% at Rs. 488. Total Traded quantity was around 12.29 lakh shares against two weeks average quantity of 6.92 lakh shares. 

  • BSE Sensex ended at 27,002.22 surging by 236.57 points or 0.88%. The 30-stock index was positive with 24 advances and 6 declines. Total turnover stood at Rs. 363.46 with volume of 8,076,595. 

  • Amid Brexit, Europe market opens strong 

  • At 15.06, Sensex reaches its 257,000 earmark. After showing flat movement in the morning trading session, BSE soars 257.22 points or 0.96% at 27,022.87. Investors showed positive sentiments on the index which led to 26 advances and 4 declines.

  • Nifty was trading above 12 points at 8,216.25. The index re-gained with 29 advances and 22 declines. 

  • At 1.06 pm, Sensex was trading at 26,819.27 up 53.62 points. The index finally showed some positve movement with 16 advances, 13 declines and 1 remaining unchanged.

  • Bank of India was trading marginally up at Rs. 95.70 on raising Rs. 1000 Crore by issue of Basel-Ill Compliant Additional Tier I Bonds (Series-ll). The Bonds have been rated AA (-) by Brickwork and A+ by CRISIL and bear coupon rate of 11.50% p.a. Total traded quantity stood at 2.37 lakh shares against 8.99 lakh shares.

  • PSU Bank were trading in green on NSE. The index was trading at 2,646.85 up 14.40 points or 0.55%. Out of 12 stocks, around 8 stocks were positive with Punjab National Bank as top gainer, trading at Rs. 98.90 up 1.96%. 

  • Banking stock surged on NSE index. The bank Nifty was trading above 18.95 points at 17,645. 

  • Tata Motors was among the top gainer on BSE, as investors maintain their buying interest in the stock. The stock of the company was trading at Rs. 479.30 up 1.44%. It opened at Rs. 475.55 slightly lower from its previous close of Rs. 472.50. 

  • Rupee was up 0.071 points or 0.11% trading at 67.360. The local currency got open at 67.432. 

  • NSE opens flat at 8,201.15 on Thursday morning session. The index was negative with 21 advances and 30 declines. 

  • Sensex opens in red down by 12.45 points at 26,753.20. Overall the index is positive but cautious with 13 advances, 8 declines, 1 remaining unchanged and 8 not traded. 

  • Market to remain cautious on Brexit poll today.
