International Yoga Day 2023 Highlights, PM Modi at UN Headquarters: Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the much-awaited yoga session at the United Nations Headquarters in New York today (June 21). The session which was also to commemorate International Yoga Day was unique as it created a world record for having the most number of nationalities in a yoga session. There was a lot of excitement among participants at the UN Headquarters. They gathered in large numbers early in the morning and queued up to attend the event. Indian-Americans came in hords to become part of the historic event. Modi said that yoga is free for all and it unifies all the nations globally. The event saw the participation of top UN officials, envoys from across the world, and prominent individuals. Hollywood actor Richard Gere also attended the event at the UN headquarters.
It was for the first time that the Prime Minister was at the UN Headquarters to lead a yoga session. The Yoga session was held at the North Lawn of the UN Headquarters.
