Goa panchayat election results 2022 Live Updates: BJP-backed candidates are leading in the Goa panchayat election for which the counting of voters is currently underway amid tight security. The counting is being done at 21 centres across 12 talukas. The counting will decide the fate of more than 5,000 candidates. The poling for 186 panchayat bodies in the Goa panchayat election was held on Wednesday.

As per the official data, there are 3,85,867 voters in North Goa, and 4,11,153 in South Goa. The Goa panchayat election result will be announced today. The counting is underway amid tight security.

A senior State Election Commission official said the Goa panchayat election results counting started at 9 am. As much as 78.70 per cent voter turnout was recorded for the panchayats elections with a total of 6,26,496 voters casting their votes.
