  • Permanent institutional framework to set up, to instill confidence in corporate bond market participants during times of stress and enhance secondary market liquidity: FM 

  • For investor protection, Investor Charter as a right of all financial investors across all financial products to be introduced: FM 

  • Additional capital infusion of ₹ 1000 crore to Solar Energy Corporation of India and ₹ 1500 crore to IREDA, to give further boost to green energy sector: FM 

  • Insurance Act 1938 to be amended, to increase permissible FDI limit in insurance companies from 49% to 74% and allow foreign ownership and control with safeguards: FM

  • To further reduce litigation for small taxpayers I propose to constitute a dispute resolution committee which will be faceless to ensure efficiency, transparency. Anyone with a taxable income up to Rs 50 Lakhs & disputed income up to Rs 10 Lakhs eligible to approach committee: FM

     

  • Fiscal deficit in 2020-21 pegged at 9.5% of GDP. We would need another Rs 80,000 crores for which we would be approaching the market in these two months: FM Nirmala Sitharaman

     

  • The fiscal deficit in 2021-22 is estimated to be 6.8% of the GDP: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman

     

  • I propose to reduce the time limit for reopening of assessments (tax assessments) to 3 years from the present 6 years:  FM Nirmala Sitharaman

     

  • We shall reduce the compliance burden on our senior citizens who are 75 years of age & above - for senior citizens who only have pension & interest income, I propose exemption from filing their Income Tax return: FM Nirmala Sitharaman. 

  • 100 new Sainik schools will be set up in partnership with NGOs, private schools, and states. We would be introducing the legislation this year to implement the setting-up of Higher Education Commission of India: FM Nirmala Sitharaman.

  • To further extend efforts towards unorganised labour force, I propose to launch a portal to collect relevant information on gig workers, building/construction workers among others. It'll help formulate health, housing, skill, insurance credit &food schemes for migrant workers: FM

  • Social security benefits will be extended to gig and platform workers. Minimum wages will apply to all categories of workers. Women will be allowed to work in all categories and also in night shifts with adequate protection: FM Nirmala Sithraman.

     

  • We have launched one nation, one ration card scheme through which beneficiaries can claim their rations anywhere in the country. Migrant workers in particular benefit from scheme. One nation, One ration card plan is under implementation by 32 states & UTs: FM Nirmala Sithraman.

     

  • I am proposing substantial investments in the development of modern fishing harbours & fish landing centres. 5 major fishing harbours - Kochi, Chennai, Visakhapatnam, Paradip and Petuaghat will be developed as hubs for economic activities: FM Nirmala Sitharaman.

    Procurement has also continued to increase at a steady pace. This has resulted in increase in payment to farmers substantially. In case of wheat, total payment paid to farmers in 2013-14 was Rs Rs 33,874 cr. In 2019-20 it was Rs 62,802 cr. In 2020-21, it was Rs 75,060 crores: FM

  • Govt proposes setting up of conciliatory mechanism for quick resolution of contractual disputes: FM

  • For 2021-22 I propose a sharp increase in capital expenditure and thus have provided Rs 5.54 lakh crores, 34.5% more than BE 2020-21. We will provide over Rs 2 lakh crores to states and autonomous bodies for their capital expenditure: FM

  • Framework to be put in place, to provide consumers alternatives to choose from, from among more than one power distribution company: FM

    High density rail networks and highly utilized rail routes to be provided with indigenously developed automatic train protection system which will eliminate train collision due to human error: FM 

  • Record sum of ₹ 1,10,055 crore to be provided for Indian Railways, out of which ₹ 1,07,100 is for capital expenditure only: FM 

     

  • New scheme at a cost of ₹ 18,000 crore for augmentation of public bus transport services. Will facilitate deployment of innovative PPP models enabling private players to finance, acquire, operate and maintain over 20,000 buses: FM

  • Western Dedicated Freight Corridor and Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor to be commissioned by June 2022. Various additional initiatives too being proposed: FM 

     

  • Enhanced outlay of ₹ 1,18,101 crore for MORTH, out of which ₹ 1.08 lakh crore is for capital, the highest ever provided: FM 

  • Western Dedicated Freight Corridor and Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor to be commissioned by June 2022. Various additional initiatives too being proposed: FM 

     

  • A National Monetisation Pipeline of potential brown-field infrastructure assets will be launched; An Asset Monetisation Dashboard will be created for tracking progress and provide visibility to investors: FM

  • 100% electrification of rail broad gauge routes to be completed by December 2023: FM 

  • By March 2022, another 8,500 km of road projects to be awarded, additional 11,000 km of NH corridors to be completed, under Bharat Mala Pariyojna project: FM 

     

  • Rs 40,000 crore for programmes, projects and departments which show good progress in capital expenditure and which may be in need of further funds. More than ₹ 2 lakh crore for states and autonomous bodies for capex: FM

    Scheme of Mega Investment Textile Parks to be launched, in addition to PLI scheme, to create world class infra in textile sector, with plug-and-play facilities, to create global export champions. 7 textile parks to be set up over 3 years: FM

    Professionally managed Development Financial Institution to be set up, to provide, enable & catalyze infra financing. Rs 20,000 crore to capitalize this institution. Aim is to have lending portfolio of at least Rs 5 lakh crore in 3 years: FM

  • FM announces, "Jal Jeevan Mission Urban to be launched, outlay ₹ 2.87 lakh crore over 5 years. Aimed at universal water supply in all 4,378 urban local bodies, with 2.86 crore household tap connections and liquid waste management in 500 AMRUT cities."
