West Bengal (WBBSE) Board Class 10 exams 2021: With many state governments cancelling/postponing the board examinations amid the second eave concerns of Covid-19, West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) on Tuesday is likely to arrive at a final decision whether to go ahead with a prescribed schedule or postpone the Class 10 exam.

West Bengal Board of Secondary Education is yet to arrive at a final decision on whether to go ahead with the Class 10 examinations scheduled in June or postpone the tests.  

Board President Kalyanmoy Ganguly said no decision has been taken yet on postponement or cancellation of the exams. "I cannot say anything on the issue at present," he said. The class 10 board examinations are scheduled to take place from June 1 to 10, 2021 

While speaking to PTI, a senior board official said that the school education department has been asked to look at ways to evaluate answer sheets and allot marks to candidates amid the pandemic situation. "We are yet to make any formal decision with regard to holding the exams," he said. 

The officials said, the board had taken all necessary steps before the second wave of the contagion struck with around 4,000 exam centres in readiness, including adhering to COVID-19 protocols. 

Meanwhile, the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Examination (WBCHSE) has decided to conduct the class 12th board exams at home centres.  This means the 12th board exam in West Bengal to be held at their respective schools of the students in the second half of the day.   

The West Bengal class 12 board exams have been scheduled to be held between 15th to 30th June 2021. The WBCHSE has revised the timings for the exam from 10:00 – 01:15 pm to 12:00 pm – 03:15 pm. Students must also note that they will appear from their home venues.
