Amid the rising covid cases in the country, many state and central examinations either being cancelled or postponed. In this regard, the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Examination (WBCHSE) has decided to conduct the class 12th board exams at home centres.

This means the 12th board exam in West Bengal to be held at their respective schools of the students in the second half of the day.  

The West Bengal class 12 board exams have been scheduled to be held between 15th to 30th June 2021.   

The WBCHSE has revised the timings for the exam from 10:00 – 01:15 pm to 12:00 pm – 03:15 pm. Students must also note that they will appear from their home venues.  

The council in a statement said, “Higher Secondary Examination will be conducted as per the schedule published earlier. For Class 12 board exams, the HS examinees will appear for the examination at their institution (Home Venue)."  

The students, earlier, had to appear from other schools to take the class 12 board exams. However, the board has informed that it will keep a close watch on the COVID-19 situation, and all its decisions would hinge on the evolving circumstances. 

CBSE has released the marking system for Class 10 students, as it has already cancelled the examination. Moreover, At least dozens of state boards have been taking precautionary measures either by deferring or cancelling the exams. 

India has been severely hit by the rising cases of coronavirus, more than 3 lakh cases and around 3500 deaths have been reported almost every day for the straight 13th day today.
