UP Board Class 12 exam 2021 has been cancelled. The Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Council cancelled the exam on Thursday, keeping safety of students in mind amid the pandemic. The information was shared by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Twitter.

He wrote, " Student's safety is our top priority in the view of Covid 19 pandemic. Taking inspiration from respected Prime Minister, Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Council exams of Class 10 and 12 will not be conducted for this academic year." 

Earlier, the UP Board had proposed to conduct a 90-minute exam for Class 12 students with all Coronavirus norms in place. The exams were to take place in the 2nd week of July, as earlier informed by the Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Council exams. 

After CBSE class 12 exams, Rajasthan class 10 and 12 board exams 2021 were also called off on late Wednesday evening. This came after CBSE 12th Board exams were cancelled after Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting on Tuesday. 

Soon after, CISCE and the Haryana government also announced cancellation of their respective board exams. Some other states, including Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand, called off their board exams on Wednesday.
