UGC UPDATE: The University Grants Commission (UGC) of India has taken a big step regarding IIT Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE) on Monday, May 23, 2022. The UGC has decided to conduct the IIT-JEE exam in 25 countries. Earlier, the exam was conducted in 12 countries.

According to the UGC, about 3900 seats will be available for undergraduates. While 1,300 seats will be made available for post-graduates for NRIs, Indians, and foreign nationals. These exams are being planned to be conducted simultaneously in 25 countries, from the US to Vietnam. Countries include – America, Australia, South Africa, Singapore, China, Nepal, Indonesia, Malaysia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, etc.

By qualifying these exams, foreign students will be able to get admission in the National Institute of Technology, National Institute of Information Technology, School of Planning and Architect, and other technical institutions funded by the Central Government.

It is to be noted that these exams were also conducted last year in Kuala Lumpur and Lagos. Earlier, in collaboration with the Government of India, the IIT-JEE exam was conducted in 12 countries.
