The University Grants Commission (UGC) has extended the deadline for online applications for scholarships till November 30. It has also extended the closing date for verification of applications by institutions of students, including resubmission of defective applications, till December 15. The deadline has been extended for four Scholarship programmes and notification regarding the same has been made available at UGC official website: ugc.acin.  The UGC has made this announcement in fresh notification released on November 29.

Scholarship  schemes
The deadlines for applying for the Indira Gandhi PG Scholarship for Single Girl Child (SGC), PG Scholarship for University Rank Holder candidate (URH), Ishan Uday Special scheme for North Eastern Region (NER) and PG Scholarship for Professional Courses for SC/ST candidates (PGSPROF) have been extended by the commission.

The eligible students have been asked to submit their application through National Scholarship Portal on its website: scholorships.gov.in.  The portal is open since September 1. Eligible institutions are also advised to verify the applications of their students immediately after receiving the applications on Portal.

In another notification dated October 29, the University Grants Commission has also recently extended date of admission for September-October academic session for year 2020-2021 for open and distance learning programmes to be offered by Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs). UGC has extended the date for completion of admission process in ODL and online mode from October 31 to November 30.  HEIs has been asked to upload the admission details on UGC DEB web portal by December 15.
