Telangana SSC Inter Exams News: Night curfews, weekend lockdowns, stringent restrictions, schools closed, exams cancelled or postponed - it seems that the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic when it first struck the country are coming back with its second wave. In order to control the spread of the disease, various state governments have closed down schools and other educational institutions and cancelled or postponed the board exams.

As per a report by ANI, the Telangana government has also decided to cancel the Telangana Secondary School Certificate (TS SSC) exams in view of the pandemic situation in the state. An order issued by the Chief Secretary of the state Chitra Ramchandran on Thursday stated, "Considering the present pandemic situation prevailing in the state, the government hereby cancel all 10th exams to be held from May 17th." The class 12 intermediate exams have also been postponed by the Telangana government.

The announcement from Telangana Chief Secretary comes a day after the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) cancelled the class 10 board exams. The CBSE has postponed the class 12 board exams and the decision on the date of the class 12 board exams will be taken after a thorough review on June 1, 2021. The results of the CBSE class 10 students will be compiled on the basis of an objective criterion to be decided by the board.

Regarding the results of the Telangana class 10 SSC candidates, the order said, "The result of class 10th students will be prepared on the basis of objective criteria to be developed by the SSC board, Telangana at later date."

Several other states have also either postponed or cancelled their class 10 class 12 board exams due to the rising number of coronavirus cases in the country as well as in their respective states. Earlier, the Maharashtra government has also decided to postpone the SSC and HSC board exams for the class 10 class 12 candidates, respectively. In view of the COVID-19 situation in the state, the Uttar Pradesh government has also decided to postpone the class 10 class 12 board exams till May 20, 2021.

Speaking on the statistics of the number of COVID-19 cases in the state of Telangana, according to the Union Health Ministry, there are a total number of 27,861 active cases in the state of Telangana at present. The total number of infections in the state has mounted to 3,08,396.
