NIRF Rankings 2021: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday, September 9, 2021, has released the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2021 rankings. IIT Madras has topped the rankings in overall category followed by IISc Bengaluru.

News agency ANI has tweeted about the NIRF 2021 ranking. The tweet said, "IIT, Madras ranked first, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru second, IIT Bombay third in overall NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework) India Rankings 2021."

 

Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has tweeted about the release from his official Twitter handle. The tweet said, "At the release of India Rankings 2021."

 

The top 10 institutes in overall category includes IIT Madras, IISC Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Roorkee, IIT Guwahati, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and Banaras Hindu University (BHU).

It has to be noted that NIRF was approved by the MHRD and launched by Honourable Minister of Human Resource Development on September 29,  2015.

According to the NIRF website, this framework outlines a methodology to rank institutions across the country. The methodology draws from the overall recommendations broad understanding arrived at by a Core Committee set up by MHRD, to identify the broad parameters for ranking various universities and institutions. The parameters broadly cover  'Teaching, Learning and Resources', 'Research and Professional Practices', 'Graduation Outcomes', 'Outreach and Inclusivity' and 'Perception'.

As per NIRF 2021 ranking, the top 10 universities in the country are IISC Bangalore, JNU, BHU, Calcutta University, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, JMI, Manipal Academy of Higher, JU, University of Hyderabad and Aligarh Muslim University.

According to the NIRF 2021 ranking, the top 10 engineering colleges in the country are IIT Madras, IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Roorkee, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, NIT Tiruchirappalli and NIT Surathkal.

The top five medical colleges of India as per NIRF 2021 ranking are AIIMS Delhi, PGIMER Chandigarh, CMC Vellore, NIMHNS Bangalore and SGPIMS Lucknow.

The top five management institutes as per NIRF 2021 ranking are IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Kozhikode
and IIT Delhi.

As per NIRF 2021 ranking, the top 10 colleges of the country are Miranda House, Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Loyala College, St Xaviers College, Kolkata, Ramkrishna Mission Vidyamandira, PSGR Krishanammal College for Women, Presidency College, Chennai, St Stephen College, Hindu College and Shri Ram College for Commerce.
