Maharashtra Board Exam 2021 Latest Updates: The surge in the rise of COVID-19 cases in the country is compelling several state governments to shut down schools and other educational institutions in their state.

As per a report by The Times of India, due to the adverse COVID-19 situation in the state, the chances of Maharashtra government postponing the board exams are quite high. Speaking to The Times of India, Maharashtra Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad said, “I can’t say anything at his moment but, yes, a final decision will be taken this week itself. I will meet with various stakeholders and see what their views are about exams.”

The Maharashtra HSC exams for class 12 board exam candidates are scheduled to begin from April 23, 2021 and end on May 21, 2021. On the other hand, the SSC board theory exams for class 10 are scheduled to take place from April 29, 2021 to May 20, 2021. The exams are supposed to take place in the offline mode.

It must be noted that the schools and educational institutions have been closed down in several states across the country. Schools have been closed in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Chhattisgarh and others in order to contain the recent surge in the number of coronavirus cases.

While interacting with The Times of India, state education minister Varsha Gaikwad stated that they are trying to accommodate all the concerns regarding the spread of the pandemic in order to form a proposal to put up the before the Chief Minister Office (CMO).

The Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Dr Harsh Vardhan chaired a meeting on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 with the Health Ministers, Additional Chief Secretaries and Principal Secretaries (Health) of the states and union territories of Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab and Rajasthan. It has been observed that these states have been reporting a steep rise in the number of COVID-19 cases over the last two weeks.

It is expected that a formal decision regarding the Maharashtra HSC and SSC board exams will be taken and announced by Friday.
