The recent spike in the number of coronavirus cases in the country has thrown the state governments into disarray. The state governments are adopting various stringent measures to contain the spread of the pandemic. Various state governments have once again closed down schools and other educational institutions. The state of Madhya Pradesh has also closed down schools for classes one to eight till June 15, 2021.

However, amidst this situation, the real concern is centering around the class 10 class 12 board exam candidates. Certain states have already announced the postponement of the board exams for class 10 class 12 board exam candidates while the others are reviewing the situation before taking a call.

Earlier, the Madhya Pradesh government has decided to provide the option to the students of classes 9 to 12 to choose the mode of exam - offline or online. The Madhya Pradesh School Education Department had tweeted regarding the decision. The decision would have been applicable to the students appearing for the class 10 and class 12 board exams, as well as for the students appearing for their pre-board exams in classes 9 and 11.

If students of classes 9 and 11 opt to take the final year exams in the offline mode, then they will have to take the exams from home. The students will need to collect the question papers from the respective schools. They will have to solve the question papers and submit the answer sheets back to the school authorities in the prescribed time limit.

It has to noted that all the government schools will hold the written exams from home while the private schools will have the option to choose between online and offline exams.

However, as of now, the Madhya Pradesh class 10 class 12 board exams are being postponed till May 30, 2021.
