According to a report by The Times of India, most of the schools in the southern state have already released the timetables for online exams while the others will conduct offline exams only if the state government permits.

Recently, the CBSE has instructed all the principals of the affiliated schools to conduct the exams for classes 9 and 11 in offline mode.

This move has taken the guardians and the teachers by surprise. The parents are also concerned about the safety of their wards in sending them to the schools amidst the relentless COVID-19 situation in the southern Indian state.

Following the CBSE directive, the principals of the CBSE schools in Kerala conducted several meetings at Sahodaya-level regarding the mode for conducting exams for classes 9 and 11.

As per The Times of India report, though the CBSE has issued the directive of conducting offline exams, there are also clear instructions of abiding by the state government rules.

As a result, those schools in Kerala who have already decided to conduct the exams in February, will conduct online exam for classes 9 and 11. Also, following the normal reopening of the schools, an offline assessment can be held for these students if necessary.

The schools who were planning to schedule the exams in March will wait for the government's permission as of now.
