Karnataka, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh school reopening date: The coronavirus pandemic continues to impact day-to-day activities, even though many restrictions have been eased. However, the new Covid-19 strain has again added uncertainty in everyone's minds. Nevertheless, governments at the state and the Central level have been devising steps to check the spread of the virus. The schools were shut in March to prevent the children from getting affected.

The schools have been allowed to gradually open. In fact, may states have even allowed school administration to conduct classes for the students who are due to appear in their board exams. Some states have still decided not to open the schools. But many states will be reopening schools from January. 

From January 2021, many states will open schools for classes to happen. Karnataka for instance, will open classes for the students studying between class 6 and 12.    

For students studying in classes 6-9 will be required to show a written consent from their parents. Meanwhile, in Puducherry, the schools will be reopened from 4 January for half day from class 1 onwards. The fulltime classes will resume from 18 January.  

The schools will also be reopened in Bihar from 4 January. The colleges and other academic institutions will also be opened. Students of senior classes and final years will be called from 4 January. For remaining classes, the government will take a call after 15 days.  

States which have opened schools 

The Jharkhand government also decided to open the schools. The schools outside the containment zones have been reopened for students of classes 10 and 12. The students will be required to show consent of their parents. The dental and medical colleges along with nursing schools have been oened from 21 December. The students will join classes under the odd-even formula. 

Madhya Pradesh has also opened classes for class 10 and 12 students from 18 December. Haryana has opened schools for class 10 and 12 students from 14 December. For students of class 9 and 12 classes have begun from 21 December.  

The schools which will be reopening have also been instructed all the protocols issued by the government at the state and centre.
