JEE Main 2021: Paper-1 for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2021 has begun today. JEE Main 2021 paper 1 is being conducted in two slots — shift-1 from 9 AM to 12 AM and shift-2 from 3 PM to 6 PM. According to the stats shared by NTA, more than 6 lakh students have registered themselves for the JEE Main 2021 paper for BTech exam. JEE Main 2021 candidates will be required to adhere to COVID-19 guidelines that includes wearing a mask at all times, maintaining appropriate distance from one another at the JEE Main exam centres, etc.

JEE Main 2021 Paper-1 exam under strong surveillance

JEE Main 2021 Paper-1 is taking place under strong surveillance. The NTA has installed CCTV cameras, mobile network jammers at exam centres.

"Live CCTV surveillance has been planned in all examination centres to curb malpractices in the examination. The NTA is also making arrangements for live viewing at any remote location and recording CCTVs systems of all examination centres from the control room located in the NTA premises of New Delhi," NTA had said previously.

"In order to stop cheating using mobile networks, jammers have been installed in all the centres," it added.

JEE Main 2021 Paper 1 (BE/BTech) is being held at 828 examination centres. Out of the total 6,52,627 candidates, 1,97,771 are female candidates and 4,54,852 are male candidates. 6,09,889 candidates have chosen to write JEE Main 2021 paper in English; 22,758 candidates have decided to writer their JEE Main 2021 paper in Hindi and 19,980 will write the JEE Main paper 1 in other languages (Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu).

JEE Main 2021 is the qualifying exam for admission to undergraduate programs in NITs, IIITs, and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs). JEE Main is also an eligibility test for JEE Advanced, which is conducted for admission to undergraduate programs offered by the Indian Institute of Technology (IITs).
