The state government on Monday decided to start classes for students of Class 10 to 12 on a trial basis. This was after a large number of parents of students studying in these two schools gave a go-ahead for reopening of the schools.

The decision comes even as the Centre has said that schools across the country will remain closed till the month-end. However, the date of reopening of these government schools and the duration of classes are yet to be finalised. The modalities on this are being worked upon.

Haryana Education Minister Kanwar Pal Sunday has said that the state government was ready to open schools across the state once the Centre gives an approval. The Minister had said that the state authorities will require a few days to work out the modalities in view of the ongoing Covid pandemic once the nod comes from the Centre.

Pal said a video of the classes being conducted will be shot which will demonstrate how Standard Operating Procedures and other Covid-related guidelines have to be followed and it will be shown to students of other schools in the state through EDUSAT network.
The parents’ approval came as many of them found their wards lacking in some aspects, despite the best efforts of the teachers during the online classes. They insisted that a face-to-face interaction will be helpful.
