Amidst the unprecedented rise in the number of COVID-19 cases all over the country, several state boards have either cancelled or postponed the class 10 class 12 board exams. The state boards have followed the path shown by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Last week, the CBSE has also cancelled the class 10 board exams and postponed the class 12 board exams. The decision regrading the revised schedule of the CBSE class 12 board exams will be taken after a thorough review of the COVID-19 situation in the country on June 1, 2021.

GBSHSE has postponed the HSSC April 2021 exam and the SSC May 2021 exam. Regarding the revised dates for the GBHSE class 10 class 12 board exams, it has been mentioned on the website that the revised dates will be notified 15 days before the commencement of the exams. A detailed notification will also follow the revised exam schedule for class 10 class 12 board exams.

Following the decision by CBSE, several state boards have adopted similar measures. Recently, because of the rise in the number of COVID-19 cases in the state, the Maharashtra government has also decided to cancel the class 10 board exams. The class 12 board exams have been postponed till the end of May.

With the board exams being cancelled and postponed, the authorities are looking at alternate ways to evaluate the board exam candidates. The CBSE has stated that the results of the class 10 board exam candidates will be prepared on the basis of an objective criterion to be decided by the board.
