Incidentally, the CBSE has announced the assessment criteria for CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2021 students. For CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2021 assessment, 20 marks are allotted to internal assessment and 80 marks for the year-end board exams. As the CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2021 has been cancelled, the CBSE-affiliated schools will assess the 80 marks of the CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2021 students in the following ways:

a) based on the marks scored by the candidate in different tests/exams conducted by the school in the course of the year

b) the marks should be in consonance with the past performance of the school in CBSE Class 10 Board exams

According to several experts, given the current scenario, the option to cancel CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 cannot be ruled out. A retired teacher told Times Now, "Many students have lost a family member to the pandemic – they are young 17 or 18-year-olds and already worried about life, tackling grief and uncertainty. With all that is happening, the government must consider canceling the exams and finding an alternative assessment plan like they have done for class 10."

As of now there has been no official confirmation from CBSE. All eyes are on the crucial meeting on June 1, 2021, that will decide whether the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 will be cancelled or further postponed till the month of July.
