However, reportedly the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the Council For The Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) are considering various other options for evaluating the Class 12 Board Exam 2021 candidates.

As per an india.com report, the CISCE on Saturday has asked its affiliated schools to submit data including the average of marks obtained by Class 12 students in Class 11 and in the current session. Though there has been no official clarification from the board, the students and the parents who have been seeking cancellation of the Class 12 Board Exam 2021 are hopeful that the board is also considering the cancellation of the exams and so they have asked for the average marks of the students in Class 12 and Class 11 from the affiliated schools.

Gerry Arathoon, CISCE Secretary, in a letter to school principals marked as 'strictly confidential', said, "The CISCE is in the process of collating and collecting data from all our schools presenting candidates for class 12 examination. You are, therefore, requested to provide the requested information for class 12 candidates."

As per various media reports, the COVID-19 situation in the country is being reviewed and the cancellation of the Class 12 Board Exam 2021 and evaluating the students on the basis of the results of the previous classes are also being considered. Again, a majority of the states and the union territories have favoured the option of conducting the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 in shorter format for major subjects in August. However, states like Maharashtra have advocated for a 'non-examination route', also Delhi has suggested that without the vaccination of the students, the board exams should be cancelled.

Incidentally, on April 14, 2021, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had announced the cancellation of the CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2021 and postponement of the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021. Soon after the CBSE announced their decision, the CISCE and other state boards followed suit. The CBSE further stated that a decision on the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 will be notified to the students after a thorough review of the situation by June 1, 2021.

At present, all eyes are on the Supreme Court today regarding any decision on the CISCE CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021.
