CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021: There has been a rising demand from the students to cancel the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021. When the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) postponed the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 last month, the board notified that decision on the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 will be taken after a thorough review of the COVID-19 situation in the country. As of now, there has been no confirmation from the CBSE regarding the cancellation of the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021. The candidates must keep an eye on the CBSE official website at cbse.gov.in for any updates on the same.

There is a possibility that the CBSE might follow the assessment plan for CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2021 for evaluating CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 candidates as well if the COVID-19 situation in the country is not improved. While speaking to India TV, a CBSE official said, "It’s too early to say, but if the situation worsens, the CBSE may follow the assessment plan of class 10." He further informed, "We cannot further delay conducting the exam after July as the entire exam process takes more than a month including evaluation of copies and result declaration."

As per a report by india.com, a large section of Class 12 Board Exam 2021 students has taken on Twitter to demand the cancellation of the board exams. Due to the rise in the number of coronavirus cases all over the country, students have also filed a petition on Change.org, asking the government to cancel the board exams. The petition has also crossed 72,000 signatures by May 10, 2021. Also, in order to voice their demands, several Class 12 Board Exam 2021 board exam candidates have taken on Twitter by using the hashtag #saveboardstudents. In the tweets, students are urging the authorities to cancel the Class 12 Board Exam 2021. Some have also suggested to evaluate them in a similar assessment criteria like the CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2021 students.

Incidentally, the CBSE has announced the assessment criteria for CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2021 students. For CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2021 assessment, 20 marks are allotted to internal assessment and 80 marks for the year-end board exams. As the CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2021 has been cancelled, the CBSE-affiliated schools will assess the 80 marks of the CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2021 students in the following ways:

a) based on the marks scored by the candidate in different tests/exams conducted by the school in the course of the year

b) the marks should be in consonance with the past performance of the school in CBSE Class 10 Board exams

As of now, there has been no official confirmation from CBSE and hence all eyes are on the crucial meeting on June 1, 2021, that will decide whether the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 will be cancelled or further postponed till the month of July.
