CBSE class 10, Class 12 improvement exam

The CBSE has allowed students of CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 to appear in the improvement exam in the same year. Previously, students had to wait for the next year exam if they had to appear in the improvement exam. But now Class 10 and 12 students will get to take the exam in the same academic year. The students will be allowed to sit in the compartment exams, conducted soon after CBSE class 10, class 12 board exams and best of the two marks will be considered in the final scorecard. "This permission will be made available to the candidates appearing in 2021 examination and if they wish to improve their performance in any one subject they may again apply in the Compartment Examination for appearing to improve their performance,” read a statement by CBSE.  However, in case students wish to improve their marks in more than two subjects they need to appear in the examination as per the old rules.

CBSE class 10, Class 12 practical exams 2021:
As per CBSE, this year Class 10, class 12 practical exams will be conducted in 3 shifts instead of 2 previously. This has been decided after several schools requested the CBSE for the same.   "A request has been made to CBSE by some schools conducting practical to allow them to conduct practical in 03 shifts instead of 02 shifts, if the school so desires. This will help in early conduct of practical and ensure more availability of time of students for preparations for the examinations. Keeping in view the requests received, CBSE has decided to permit schools to conduct practical up to 03 shifts in a day. Rest of the condition for conduct of practical will remain the same," said CBSE in a notice to schools.

CBSE Class 10, Class 12 exam centre change permission
The board also recently allowed CBSE class 10, class 12 students to change their exam as well as practical centres considering the recent surge in the number of COVID-19 cases across the contry. "It has come to the notice of the board that because of Covid-19 pandemic, students of classes 10, 12, along with their families, have shifted to some other city or country and therefore, they are unable to appear in the practical/ theory exam from the school/ exam centre where the students are registered for the boards examination," said the CBSE in a letter to the principals and heads of CBSE affiliated schools.  The last date to change Class 10 and Class 12 exam centre is March 25
