CBSE CISCE Board Exams 2021 Postponed: After the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced its decision regarding the cancellation of class 10 board exams and postponement of class 12 board exams, earlier last week, there were expectations among the ICSE board exam candidates that their board would also resort to a similar decision owing to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the country.

On April 16, 2021, Friday, the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) also announced their decision to defer the ICSE (class 10) and ISC (class 12) board exams scheduled to be held from May 4, 2021.

Several other state boards have also followed the path shown by CBSE and have either cancelled the board exams or postponed them due to the rising number of coronavirus cases in the country and their respective state.

The ICSE class 10 board exams were supposed to commence from May 4, 2021 and were scheduled to continue till June 7, 2021. As for the ISC class 12 board exams, they had already begun from April 8, 2021 and were supposed to end on June 18, 2021. With the ICSE and ISC board exams for classes 10 and 12 now being deferred, the class 10 class 12 board exam candidates need to keep certain things in mind. They are as follows:

1) The COVID-19 situation in the country will be closely review and a final decision regarding the holding of ICSE and ISC board exams for class 10 and class 12 will be taken by the first week of June, 2021.

2) The ISC board exams for class 12 candidates will be conducted at a later date.

3) The ICSE class 10 board exam candidates will be given the following two options  - to write offline exams along with the class 12 candidates, not to write the offline exams. In case, any candidate opts for the latter option, the CISCE will develop a fair and unbiased criterion to prepare the result for such candidate.

As far as the CBSE board exams are concerned, the class 10 board exams were scheduled to take place from May 4, 2021 to June 7, 2021. The class 12 board exams were slated to commence from May 4, 2021 and continue till June 14, 2021. With the CBSE class 10 board exams now cancelled and class 12 board exams postponed, the CBSE class 10 class 12 board exam candidates also need to remember certain points, they are as follows:

1) A decision on the dates for the class 12 board exams will be taken after a thorough review of the situation on June 1, 2021.

2) The results for the CBSE class 10 board exam candidates will be prepared on the basis of an objective criterion to be decided by the board.

3) Any CBSE class 10 board exam candidate who will not be satisfied with the marks will have the option to sit for a written exam when the circumstances are favourable.
