The CBSE class 10 class 12 board exams 2021 are scheduled to take place from May 4, 2021 and is set to continue till June 14, 2021. However, the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the country has posed a threat to the students appearing for the class 10 class 12 CBSE board exams.

On Tuesday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has urged the centre to cancel the CBSE board exams in this adverse situation in the national capital. While addressing a press conference, Kejriwal stated, "Six lakh children in Delhi are going to write CBSE exams. Nearly one lakh teachers will be a part of it. These can become major hotspots leading to the large-scale spreading of Corona. Children's lives and health is very important to us. I request Centre to cancel CBSE exams." As an alternative, he suggested that online mode of examination or internal assessment can be used to promote the students.

There has been a lot of hue and cry among the CBSE class 10 class 12 board exam candidates and their guardians regarding the CBSE board exams 2021 scheduled to commence from May 4, 2021. The hashtag "cancelboardexams2021" has been trending on Twitter. More than one lakh students of classes 10 and 12 have signed petitions urging the government to either cancel board exams scheduled to be held in May or conduct them in online mode.

While addressing the press conference, Kejriwal added, "Some alternative methods could be thought of. Children can be promoted this time on the basis of either an online method or internal assessment. But CBSE board exams should be cancelled."

India reported the highest-ever spike in the number of COVID-19 cases in the country with over 1.84 lakh cases and more than 1000 deaths in the last 24 hours.
